New Training Centre at Cameron Highlands

Towards becoming a University College by the end of 2017, Kolej Yayasan Pahang is looking forward to create new partnerships with other organizations. On 4th August 2017, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between Kolej Yayasan Pahang Advanced Skills (KYP-AS) and Mudah Jaya Property Sdn Bhd & IRIS House Hotel Sdn Bhd was held at Cameron Highland.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by YH Dato’ Norhishamuddin Yaacob, KYP Managing Director and YH. Dato Haji Abdul Basik Bin Mohd Sah,  Chairman Mudah Jaya Property Sdn Bhd and YBhg Dr. Lah Kah Kiet, Managing Director, IRIS House Hotel Sdn Bhd. The MoU was witnessed by YB Dato’ Sri Haji Ismail Haji Abd Muttalib, Deputy Human Resources Minister, Ministry of Human Resource, Malaysia.

The objectives of the MoU are for the parties to collaborate in the establishment of the first training center in Cameron Highlands, to perform social responsibility by providing a medium of education through the establishment of training center for the community of Cameron Highlands, and to strengthen the relationship and to create new industry linkages and strategic partnership with hotel industries in Cameron Highlands.

The new training center is expected to receive 250 students for their first intake. There will be six (6) courses offered at the training center. The courses are Food & Beverages Operation (Level 2 & 3), Food Preparation (Kitchen Practice) (Level 2 & 3), Bread Provider (Bakery) (Level 2& 3), Office Management (Level 2 & 3), Guest Service Operation (Level 3), and Housekeeping Operation (Level 3).

“I believe that knowledge is the key to success, especially for the young generations. And most of them prefer to study at the institution that is near to their hometown.  Therefore, we decided to open a training center here, in Cameron Highlands, for the local community,” said Dato’ Norhishamuddin Yaacob.

“Congratulations to KYP for establishing the first training center at Cameron Highlands. The expansion of KYP reflects the positive development of educational sector in the Pahang state”, said Dato’ Sri Haji Ismail.
