An industrial collaboration agreement between UCYP and Akademi Binaan Malaysia Terengganu (ABMT) was knotted on 5th December 2018. This collaboration is aimed to strengthen the industrial relation between UCYP and other external institutions in-line with the concept implemented by UCYP – An Adaptive University.
The main objective of the collaboration between UCYP and ABMT is to enhance industry marketability through the empowerment of UCYP student skills. Through industry-specific practical training and courses provided, UCYP students have the opportunity to undergo modular courses within the premises of ABM. Through the collaboration with ABMT, UCYP now is offering added value courses namely Maintenance of Building Operation, Air Conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation, as well as Building Wiring Installation. UCYP students taking Diploma in Maintenance Management will not only graduate with a diploma but also a certificate recognized by ABM.
This three-year-term agreement sets out the responsibilities of UCYP and ABMT in ensuring the continuity of cooperation between the two parties. During the event, UCYP Vice Chancellor, YH Prof Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Ahmad bin Haji Zainuddin was representing UCYP while the representative from the Terengganu Construction Academy Malaysia was Encik Ahmad Kamil bin Yusof, Senior Manager of ABM.
Skills upgrading courses and assessments by ABMT are recognised by CIDB and the recognition has contributed to a significant impact on UCYP’s internal program privileges that emphasises both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
