Ahead of the 28th anniversary of UCYP, the University Collage of Pahang Foundation (UCYP) continues to dominate the current stream of academic development in Malaysia. This magnificent building has now become a landmark of the East Coast educational Hub.
Built on a 6.5-acre site with an area of 86,760 square meters, the UCYP academic building and university library have been formally handovered by the contractor appointed by UCYP at a key building handover ceremony held September 4, 2019.
Heading into the UCYP courtyard, you can definitely see the surroundings with the design of the building that combines modern elements and nature. The two-storey academic building can fix 2000 students with 12 tutorial rooms, 7 lecture halls, 2 theatre studios and 2 computer labs, as well as an auditorium capable of accommodating 450 students in one time.
A bridge built between the hallways can link the classroom zone and the administrative zone. The large open space will be used for students to engage in any activity and can serve as an informal learning area.
Energy saving features can also be seen in this design using natural lighting and ventilation systems and Rain Water Harvesting is also one of the green concepts for this building.
Complementing the concept and detail of the UCYP landscape, the water catchment component is a key element of a natural landscape’s decorative touch. This element is able to provide an atmosphere that combines learning and the environment. It definitely creates a sense of calm while in the university library.
With the age of 28, UCYP continues to be highly regarded and relevant in the national and international education industry. With the construction of a new building it has made it a landmark and pride for all UCYP residents including students, alumni and locals.
