A three-day (3) official visit by University College of Yayasan Pahang (UCYP) delegation has taken place from November 5th to November 7th, 2019 in Beijing China.
The visit was led by the UCYP Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Ahmad bin Haji Zainudddin, accompanied by the UCYP Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor (Industry Linkages & Research Development), Assistant Professor Dr. Tan Li Pin, Vice President (Student Enrolment), Mr. Yung Leong Lam and UCYP Registrar, Mr. Jalaluddin bin Abdullah.
The Malaysia-China Education Diplomacy Program has been supported by the Education Malaysia Beijing, which was led by Education Malaysia Beijing Director, Mr. Abdul Aziz How Bin Abdullah.
The joint talk between UCYP and Education Malaysia Beijing was to create educational opportunities and collaborations in China.
This visit also included several China education agencies and institutions such as Malaysia Alumni Council of China (MACC), Geely University, Beijing Information Science & Technology University (BISTU), China Education Association for International Exchange, China Islamic Association and Beijing Vocational College of Agriculture.
While being there, UCYP paid an honorary visit to the office of His Excellency Malaysia Ambassador to China, YM Raja Dato’ Nushirwan Bin Zainal Abidin.
“UCYP needs to focus on China education market and this is perceived as a suitable endeavour parallel to UCYP’s effort to entice local students furthering their studies in UCYP,” said the Malaysia Ambassador to China, His Excellency YM Raja Dato’ Nushirwan Bin Zainal Abidin when met in his office during the visit.
In the meantime, the efforts put forth in bringing UCYP brand to China during this visit is deemed a positive endeavour with the resulting success of turning Malaysia Alumni Council of China (MACC) and Beijing Information Science and Technology University (BISTU) into new UCYP strategic partners. Both institutions have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with UCYP during the visit.
Apart from that, Geely University has also received a visit from the UCYP delegation and discussed the proposed efforts in implementing the student and staff mobility program from both universities. The UCYP delegation was welcomed by Geely University Vice President, Mr. Wang Peimin and Assistant Principal, Guangxin.
As a part of the itinerary, UCYP paid a visit to one of the colleges, Beijing Vocational College of Agriculture (BVCA) that offers TVET program.
During this visit, UCYP expressed its intention to collaborate with BVCA in agricultural research studies in order to assist agricultural entrepreneurs especially those from Cameron Highland, Pahang.
Meanwhile, UCYP Vice-Chancellor, Prof Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Haji Zainuddin announced that UCYP will provide ten (10) full scholarship offers and 50% scholarship on tuition fee for thirty (30) students. The official letter regarding the UYCP scholarships was presented to the Education Malaysia Beijing Director witnessed by His Excellency Malaysia Ambassador to China, YM Raja Dato’ Nushirwan Bin Zainal Abidin.
