An official visit by Pondok Pesantren Muhammadiyah Kauman Padang Panjang delegation to UCYP has taken place at Yayasan Pahang Complex, Tanjung Lumpur on 20^th February 2020.

The visit was led by 4 representatives from Pondok Pesantren Muhammadiyah Kauman Padang Panjang which were Ustadz Surya Bunawan, Ms. Derliana, Mr. Amel Dahlan and Mr. Zainal Abidin.

The delegation was welcomed by UCYP Vice Chancellor, Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Bin Haji Zainuddin and UCYP Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student & Alumni Development), Assistant Professor Dr. Azhar Bin Jaafar.

The visit was planned by both parties as a means to strengthen the bonds between the two countries as well as creating a mutual understanding between the educational institutions. The visit was also for the delegation to meet up with two (2) of their alumni who are now currently studying at UCYP under a UCYP scholarship program exclusively for madrasah school students. This can be seen as a reunion for both the alumni and the delegation.

During the visit, the delegation expressed their gratitude for taking care and giving their students a chance to further their studies in a different environment as well as exposing them to different cultures in Malaysia. They also hope that the scholarship will be further implemented to help the madrasah students to further their studies in the future.

This type of collaboration can be seen as UCYP’s positive endeavor in spreading its wings to another land as well as promoting the UCYP brand at the global scale. The visit ended with the Pondok Pesantren Muhammadiyah Kauman Padang Panjang delegation giving souvenirs as parting gift and as a sign of the bond forged between the institutions.
